None. Our service is free to use. The price you pay for a non-broadcast recording is a buyout, so there are no residuals or royalties.

The one thing to watch is usage. If the use changes from what you paid for, the extra use has to be paid for. Book a TV spot and run it online six months later, and the online use is an additional fee. If a recording will be used inside your company and also online, book at the higher of the two rates, which in that case is internet usage.

The site starts you in the currency of where you are; change it any time from the currency menu on the rates and booking pages, and your choice is remembered on your account.

If the voice actor made a mistake or missed your direction, re-records are free: send your notes through the job page and a new take comes back. If you change the script after the recording, that counts as a new recording.

If the voice simply is not right for the job once you hear it, our satisfaction guarantee lets you pick another voice from the roster to record the same script instead. Conditions apply, and they are short.

A tax invoice is issued the moment you pay, and every invoice and receipt stays in your account under payments, ready to download whenever your accounts team asks. Company details on the invoice come from your account profile, so keep those current and you will never need to ask us for a reissue.

Some voice actors will travel to client studios in major cities around the world. On the search page pick one of the cities listed to see who is available locally. There is an additional fee for this on top of the regular rates.

Most of our voice actors can add royalty free music or sound effects. Select the extra production fee when you book.

You will need to supply the music or effects you want used, and most songs have to be licensed, so a royalty free track is the safe bet. We recommend AudioJungle: affordable, with a huge selection.

Right after you book, you land on the job page: describe the tone you want, set the deadline, name the file format, and add anything the voice actor should know, such as how to pronounce names, brands and places, or a link to something in the style you like. Voice actors read every word of it before they record.

After the first take, the conversation continues on the same page. Ask for a change, point to a line, and the next take comes back with it fixed.

At a regular pace, about 80 words in 30 seconds and 160 words in a minute. Commercials run a little faster, up to 90 words in 30 seconds. Audiobooks and long narration run slower, around 140 words a minute.

If your 30 second script is 110 words, no amount of talent will save it: cut the copy, not the breath. The script calculator does the sums for you.
